We know going to a new church for the first time can be intimidating.
We want to help make your first experience at For His Glory a great one.
Here’s what you can expect…
Current Events
At 9:30am on Sunday, Pastor goes over the current events happening in our world today with emphasis on how they correlate with what the bible says. As the end of the church age grows near, the hope of our Lord’s return is evident through the events taking place… Even so come Lord Jesus!
Sunday School
In Sunday School, with attention to detail, our Pastor teaches the adults what the Bible says not what we think it means.
Our kids enjoy singing, crafts, and Bible lessons with our Pastor’s wife. While it is very important that these kids get taught Bible lessons, it is also needful that they experience the love and care that God has for His children. The children’s Sunday School is geared toward quality education and pure FUN.
We have a 15 minute break in between the morning services to munch on some food, greet and catch up with one another, and prepare our hearts for the worship service.
Sunday Morning Worship
You will be surprised how much life the old hymns can be sung with! We take our singing pretty seriously at our church. Yes, we still use a hymnal, and we won’t have it any other way! We still walk in the “old paths” (Jer. 33:4) and believe nothing compares to the Great Hymns of the Faith. The hymns we sing exalt Jesus Christ, humble the sinful man, and teach the doctrines of the word of God.
On occasion, there are several people in our church that will prepare a “Special” song (or referred to in the Bible as a “spiritual song”. God has gifted certain members with musical abilities and we are blessed when they share them with the church!
The Bible says that God is pleased by the foolishness of preaching (I Cor. 1:21) and in our church, we love preaching. Our Pastor picks a Bible text or topic and passionately preaches what “saith the Lord”. Not only are the messages thought-provoking and often convicting but relevant and helpful. After hearing the preaching that goes on at our church you will be hungry for more!
Sunday Evening Worship
When the Bible says that Christians should meet more often as the return of Jesus Christ gets closer (Heb. 10:25), we believe it! After all, isn’t the Lord worthy of a double portion of worship on “the Lord’s day”?
Mid-Week Service
We realize most people have busy schedules, especially during the week, so we meet early enough so that you won’t be out too late. If you are just getting out of work Wednesday evening with just barely enough time to make it out- no worries. The mid-week service is a time for us to escape the cares of the world and remind us that God is still on the throne and our future is still heaven! We like to refer to our Mid-week service as a “shot in the arm”.
When we receive letters, we take some time to hear what the Lord is doing in the lives and ministries of our missionaries. Prayer is a priority in our church and to more effectively pray for one another, prayer requests are shared and noted for the week ahead.
Have a favorite hymn? On Wednesday nights we take special requests and sing our favorites. We challenge members to quote a verse from memory before requesting a hymn. Could you quote a Bible verse from memory? If not, we would love to help you to be able to!
What about the kids?
At For His Glory we view our church nursery as a vital and foundational part of our ministries. It is our desire to help children gain an early love for God’s house and His people.
Nursery workers are available for every service. The highly capable women of our church serve in this ministry based on a rotation schedule. Rest assured, your kids will be safe and cared for in our nursery ministry.
